Pathways Careers Insight Event

As part of our commitment to deliver Community Benefits across the Practice, we were delighted to take part in the Pathways Careers Insight Event on Friday 7 November.

This initiative aimed to introduce young people to a diverse range of industries and career pathways, as part of the Ravenscraig Enterprise Park City Region Funding Community Benefits programme.

This event supports Pathways clients aged 16 or approaching 16, helping them prepare to enter the workforce by connecting them with real-world employers and career insights.

Overview:

• Purpose: To showcase various industries and job roles, helping young people explore potential career options.
• Format: Employers hosted interactive stalls, with attendees rotating every 10–12 minutes to learn about different roles and industries.
• Audience: Over 40 young people from across North Lanarkshire, all eager to engage and learn.

Our team — Joseph Strain , Jack Stevenson and Caolán Mac Aodha — attended to provide an insight into a career in Quantity Surveying, alongside around 12 employers representing sectors including Local Authorities, construction, public health, and hospitality.

It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire future talent, highlight the diversity of opportunities within the construction industry, and showcase the rewarding career paths available in Quantity Surveying.
